Evidence Based Policy Academy: Criminal Justice

Location: Detroit, MI

The criminal justice system should promote community safety and uphold constitutional and human rights for all people regardless of race, ethnicity, identity, or economic status. The current system can cause hardships for people by the loss of jobs, families, health, liberty, and dignity. Moreover, it does all this at an enormous cost to taxpayers and without ensuring community safety.

Legislators understand the challenges of developing and implementing comprehensive reform of the criminal justice system. In partnership with Arnold Ventures, the Institute has designed a program on Criminal Justice exclusively for Michigan state legislators.
